hi erika
yeah, it was
the man is one of a kind

+1

i am a total klutz when it comes to graphics, i have lview pro which does a
nice job of working with pallettes and colours and converting file types,
but it doesn't read wmf
i have a copy of fireworks which i have never used, i installed it and
opened it once and basically ran for the hills... sorry, john, i have
heard nothing but good things about it, and if i ever have enough time to
want to upgrade my graphic skills from the klutz level, i shall give it
another try, but on first blush it contains *way* too many buttons, just
like dreamweaver... but the undisputed king of buttonitis in my experience
has to be cf studio, i remember when i first saw it i just laughed, it had
something like 87 buttons or toolbar icons -- totally over the top in terms
of unfriendliness...
anyhow, about .wmf....
i open blank document in word 97, and use Insert | Picture | From File...
then i play around with the image a bit
Word Art is surprisingly easy to use, a real joy, something you won't hear
me say often about microsoft products -- i wouldn't be surprised to learn
that Word Art was somebody else's software that microsoft bought or
licensed to include in word
anyhow, then i take a screen shot, paste into microsoft paint, save, and
convert the bmp to gif or jpg using lview pro -- tada!
