My first response may have been a little too curt . ..
Relying on the users to download a new plug-in in order to view the content
seems risky. It worked for Flash, but Flash started out a long time ago
(web-wise), when in order to do anything other than plain text and graphics, you
pretty much needed a plug-in. Looking at the site's description of curl, there
doesn't seem to be anything compelling enough about it to think that the
majority of web users will install it.
Of course, others may disagree.
