It is nice, but as usual with DHTML it's just a trick.

nice clean code neatly commented.
As far as I can see, they simply have the same article three times, scrolled
(or clipped) to a different height.
The second column is scrolled to the height of the first column, and the
third one to twice that.
If the font-size is increased, the text simply moves down a little, in all
three.
If they divide the content-height of column one by the visible height, and
divide that by three, they know how many pages to show.
the next "page" is nothing more than the same three div's scrolled down a
bit more
