beautifully stated, nik
people who know about second windows should retain the option to open it in
the same window or not (which is why <a href="javascript:popup()"> is
egregiously bad, and why many sites now have a little checkbox that applies
to all links on the page)
people who don't, shouldn't have second windows thrust upon them
