You would have to record a custom action. (Photoshop has some default ones
as examples)
Something like:
Open
Save As .PSD
Close
After you have your custom action recorded, select Automate then Batch.
Choose the source directory where your JPG files are located and then select
your custom action to do the processing - then select your destination
folder.

Is there a simple way to convert a (large!) number of jpegs to PSD?
Warning: PhotoShop rookie! -- using PS 6.0 on W2K.
Google turns up a few free/share/commercialware possibilities, but
if anyone has a recommendation, that'd be great.
