Not a great idea to hide something if it's legitimate. Just let the
user know what's happening, either before they click the link, or on the

A good idea. But you should know that GoDaddy's certs will give
security error messages for users of Safari on OS X up to 10.3.3 - a
good many Mac users.[0] If that's significant to you, you might go with
a basic GeoTrust certificate, which is commonly available from hosting
providers for around $100, or another "quick" SSL that does not suffer
the Mac problem.
