Greetings fellow evolters,
Recently discovered a little nuisance in IE, not sure if it's already
common knowledge but here goes...
<tip type="IE, font size, text and password fields" author="M. Seyon">
Seems that in IE (discovered in IE6) under certain conditions, the height
of form controls for regular text fields and password fields may vary by an
iota or two.
This is most noticeable when the fields are side-by-side rather than the
more traditional vertical alignment.
The cause appears to be font-family related. Perhaps the height allotted
for alphanumeric characters differs from that allotted for asterisks only.
The fix I used was to set the font-family to courier or some other
monospace font.
Note: Even while using non-monospace fonts, this issue does not occur in
better browsers such as Firefox or Opera.
