Why, I have run my SoundBlaster Live value card for the last year in
this system without any problems. I know on some of the newer boards
there are issues with the Live cards. (The KG7 series of boards) But I
have never had a problem under win2k.

I may try rotating the ram though to see if there is a problem.
Shouldn't there be an easier way of doing this though without having to
remove the ram?

If one of them is a Soundblaster Live sound card, pull it out. Throw it
away. Burn it.

There's a known issue with the SB Live soundcard and the KT133 chipset,
especially when you've got the Highpoint HPT370 raid controller on
board.
The SB Live has an SB16 emulator chip on it with a *hardwired* that
conflicts with the IRQ reserved for the HPT raid controller.

If this is the case, you can try putting the SB card in other slots (I
have
the exact same setup as you, except for a bigger disk ;-P so slot 3
should
work ) . I can give you a whole list of steps to resolve this problem if
it
exists.

Otherwise, there is a remote possibility that you have some dodgy RAM.
Try
rotating the DIMMs out and see if removing any one of them solves your
lockups.

Good luck,

Seb.
