I have an idea.

I want to do an ad for Clickstream for the interim between now and the
time it goes live. Not just a website that says Coming Soon, but a real
ad, more than just a Use Clickstream type of gimmick.

I am thinking of maybe getting Joey Lauren Adams (friend of Jon Favreau
who was in Chasing Amy and A Cool Dry Place) or Jon Favreau, since he's
actually a client, to do a voiceover for me.

So far, the two I have in mind go like this:

There is video of a plane taking off. A Lear, possibly, or just a small
red one, like the Piper Saratoga. You watch the engines warming on the
tarmac. You see it roll to the starting line. You see it stop for
clearance. Then you watch it move forward, gain speed, and take
flight. You see it go out and over the Pacific Ocean on a perfect day.
You see the sky, which is clear and cerulean and the Pacific which is
infinately blue, gorgeous and calm, with glints of golden sun.
And then Joey's voice says:

I arrived home last night and went directly to bed. I crawled into
soft, alien, overlaundered sheets and I dreampt of something very blue.

Well, not the something, actually.

Just the blue.

<clickstreams primary colour is blue, like the sky and sea...>

The second one starts out with a frame of the Austin skyline. Then
there's a guy (I might be able to pull of getting Vince Vaughn to play
"overworked web guy" for this) and he's hanging working on his laptop in
Zilker Park. You can see that he's checking the market. He sees a cute
girl walking toward him with a frisky little puppy and he smiles, not
believing his luck. He puts the pc down and starts talking to the
girl. Meanwhile, the puppy is walking all over his PC. When he
notices, he grabs his PC and realizes the dog has just pressed ENTER and
he's bought like a gazillion shares of whatever company. He presses
enter again and sees he's just made millions of dollars.

The voiceover says:

God works in multimedia.
We are the media.

We've all seen tv ads on the web (http://www.adcritic.com is one of my
fave sites) but I don't think I've seen any ads for actual web companies
or web products _on the web_.

I'm curious what you guys think about this. Before I put any real
effort to making this happen, I want to get a feel for how well received
this might be in the general web public.

TIA for your comments.
