try these for organic/nature/mud-on-your-monitor sites. start with good
photos or illustrations and you'll be halfway there.

http://www.garden.com/ (you can buy all your gardening stuff here. nice use
of photographs -- they really set the whole nature tone of the thing.)

http://www.organic.com/ (nice use of illustrations for one of the top web
firm's websites.)

http://www.patagonia.com/ (outdoor clothing w/ environmental message.
produced by adjacency.com which has since merged with sapient)

http://www.specialized.com/ (also produced by adjacency. bikes.)

http://www.commarts.com/interactive/sow_archive.html (tons of archived
sites w/ excellent designs. some are bound to be nature-y.)

http://metalab.unc.edu/ctnc/ (not saying that this site is in the same
league as the others, but it might be of some help to you. it's a web site
for a land trust organization we did a couple of years ago. it's offsite
now and they've maintained it since, so i hope it's still okay. i adapted
their print materials for the web. it helped a lot that they had a good
print designer.)

best of luck,
mary.
