i know the mandarin pinyin for "hot" is "ri".

'jin tian tian qi shi bu tai ri, bu tai leng'.
"today's weather is not too hot, not too cold".
something like that anyway :p

can't remember the intonation/whatever, or the characters.
i lost my mandarin/english dictionary a couple of years ago :(
