Hmm. I'm not convinced. Have you tried setting rightmargin=0 ?

Netscape 3/PC: as you guess, the side borders of the table disappear because
of the <td background=...>s. Perhaps the solution would be for ALL the
borders to be set using <td background=> so that NN3 visitors simply see no
borders at all. That little tab would be a bit tricky though.

The links might be better boldened the old fashioned way so that the blue on
blue was a little easier to read.
