Emily,

The serial number which displays when Photoshop loads is missing a suffix of a
dash and three more numbers.

The reason for this is so that no one can steal the number. Since you've lost
the registration card and are moving it to another machine, here is what you can
do to recover the whole serial number.

Use Regedit and search (under edit) on the last six numbers of the displayed
serial number.
the search will find a registry entry under
My_Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Photoshop\5.0\Registration

Here in the Data/Value will be an entry for SERIAL which will have the full
serial number.

Now remember to write it down!! (I always write it on the CD Jacket)
