Sounds like Mike caught the missing ingredient already (the invisible prefix).

I haven't checked, but I assume that the Adobe license permits
multiple-install, single-use.

Assuming you've registered the software, then calling Adobe's Customer
Service would be the likeliest path to getting a serial number back.

Some other frequent support calls revolve around serials with missing
hyphens, upper/lower case issues, and zero/O issues.
