Of course - you should probably bear in mind that the original article was 
referring to CF hosting - not ASP and take my asp code as a *guideline* to 
the sort of functionality you can be looking at.

Of course - it may be that it's completely impossible to write a DSN-less 
connection in CF in which case I'll look like even more of a fool!
