I read this today:
IE propagates events up the tree from the object generating it --called
event bubbling-- and stops only when *you* tell it to (returning false is
one way).

Netscape does completely the opposite. Events walk down the tree from the
document to the object that generated it, stopping at the first handler it
finds, and *you* tell it to move on.
