This will get a bit more complex if you want to install Linux on a WinNT
box, given that NT would already have installed its own booter. In that
case, installing LILO on the Master Boot Record will overwrite NT's booter
(and of course you will have some problem in being able to use NT). Can be
avoided by either
1) Not installing LILO on the MBR, but to configure the boot.ini will
require quite a bit of work (read the Linux WinNT-boot-HOW-TO's for this),
or
2) Don't install LILO at all if you using RedHat Linux. Instead there is a
program called LOADLIN.EXE on the installation CD (along with a small
instruction file on the CD). This will entail booting into DOS and then
running this program. Far easier to configure (but of course the pleasure of
using Linux comes with the more difficult way - more pleasure when it works
YMMV).
This is of course if you don't want to use one of the commercial Multi-OS
programs.
