If you carefully install your system you can get linux installed on
under 300MB.
Including KDE, GIMP, ftp, mail server, apache, & firewall.

Just make sure your very selective on what you install. Avoid alot of
the documentation & source( you can always mount the cd).

I've got a mailserver which is running RH5.2 on a '486SL50 with 8mb RAM
and a 450MB Harddrive. And in checking, right now its got 130MB free. It
has everything except the Xserver code installed.

Just get the CD & modem (or NIC) to get you started!
