i will assume you will only provide a ballpark figure, since you don't have
nearly enough to provide a real quote...
anyway, how long do you think this will take you? 40 hours? 10 hours? how good
are you with Flash? will you be learning it at the same time?
- take the amount of hours it will take you to finish the project... this
includes project management, travel time, time on phone...
- subtract any hours that are just you learning and not actually producing
anything - this goes for experimentation unless the client will directly benefit
(your rules may be different)...
- apply an hourly rate to that total... maybe even different rates -- a lower
one for text entry, a higher one for image optimization, and perhaps the highest
one is the flash development...
- do the math, there's your number... and if you're really nice, you'll cap
it...
asking one of us what we would charge isn't the best way to approach it... there
are different rates for different markets and skillsets... there are also going
to be a different amount of hours to complete this for some than others... for
instance, i could probably do the actual meat of this in 15 hours, sans project
management time... but it might take you 50 hours...
