[thelist] Need advice on where to begin...

Hello all...Im  fresh out of highschool, and hate to say it...know nothing.  
Used to think I did, until I got into computers more, and now came to the 
conclusion that I know nothing.  I know the basics of HTML, but, not enough.  
I really think I could get into this, and would love to do this for a living. 
 If anyone has any suggestions on where I should begin it would be great.  
Any information would be helpful.  Eventually want to get into more advanced 
stuff, like server side scripting.  So, anything anyone could tell me or 
anywhere you could point me to that would help would be appreciated.  Thanks
