Go to webmonkey, and don't come out for at least two months.
While your brain is in there, try also to find a site of 5-10 pages you can
work on; charity site or something. If you have a real-world reason to use
the stuff you are learning it will all make a lot more sense.
Total passionate involvement for 6-8 months, and you will be amazed at what
you can learn. There are tons and tons of online sites with extensive
tutorials.
Go to tucows to get free or cheap software; don't worry about buying
expensive apps for now.
