Well yeah, that's basically what they're saying.
However, they do say that they will integrate with any RDBMS. That means
that they probably mean that it'll work without an appserver as well. So I
wouldn't be surprised if your system manager is right.
Anyhow, their WP is very unclear and the best thing to do is just contact
them personally and ask it. This documentation is a really lousy one, and if
there is no techspec for it InterWoven is not as decent as I thought they
were :)
