martin,

: Am I going mad, or is it clearly saying that (assuming
: that SSIs won't do) you need an application server like
: ColdFusion, or ASP to extract the data & merge it
: with templates before booting it out of the back door?
:
: It seems to me that the Interwoven product gets the content
: into the database, but doesn't get it back out again.

from this whitepaper it seems pretty clear to me that this product does not
extract the data, that an application server of some variety would be
necessary. after looking their site over quite well i can't really figure
out for sure if they offer an application server of any kind. it looks more
like a content entry system, but not a content delivery system. seems kinda
odd to leave out the most obvious piece of the puzzle. at the same time
though, if they had an application server, why did they use the cold fusion
server as an example of how to deliver the content? wouldn't they just use
their own as an example?
i'd do as another list member has suggested and email them directly and ask
them pure and simple "htf do you get the data out?"
just my 2¢,
