FWIW, my alma mater has a computer art / graphic design program that puts out some good 
designers, but they are worst tool users and interface designers i have ever seen... when i 
interview them, i tend to consider how much work it will be to retrain them... after all, if your 
instructor is so good, why isn't he/she doing it for a living?

so yeah, it's a good foundation, but sometimes that foundation needs to have pieces re-
poured...
