instead of beginning a new email to thelist@lists.evolt.org, have you tried
replying to an existing message, but changing the subject line to the intended
new subject? it might inherit the plain text attribute of the existing message.
seems to have worked just then on your latest message. it only appears to be
new/fresh messages from your work account that come out as RTF...
