AFAIK...

You don't need their stinking browsers. Hook up, and surf away. Although I'd
recommend a Firewall between you and the cable network. If you use LINUX (or one that
offers it) you can Firewall and use NAT (network address translation) to run multiple
PCs on the cable modem.
