Some telnet's have kermit built in. He just doesn't understand how telnet works.
Teach him. Telnet is for talking to the computer. FTP is for trading files. They work
off of different ports - therefore are different apps. Even if one could "FTP via
telnet", all you would be doing is launching and FTP client from your telnet session
- sort of like sending a print job to the printer via your word processing program.
