FWIW, I wouldn't know html as well as I do without the help of FrontPage,
NetObjects Fusion (2), and the plethora of other WYSIWYG tools out there.
When I was first learning to create websites, I tried every tool I could get
my hand on. Not knowing anything about HTML, WYSIWYG was the obvious choice
for me.
I spent so much time cleaning up code and trying to make things work, I
accidentally learned HTML, inside and out! Now of course, I use Allaire's
CF-oriented version of HomeSite, to do all my coding by hand. But who's to
say that hand-coding is the way everyone should start out?
I say, generate the code in WHATEVER (when you're learning), then clean it
up in notepad or HomeSite, and you're setting yourself up for success in
learning to code HTML..
Just my two farthings...
