You know, I thought it was just me...

Seriously, though. Since I "opted out" of double-click, every time it wants
to serve me an ad, my current page disappears from the screen, and I get
that ever so friendly "cannot find server/page cannot be displayed" page IE
loves so much. I have to use my "back" button to get back to what I was
looking at.

My reading was interrupted by this:
http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/N815.cnn.com/B17664.2;sz=468x60;ord=2000.3.22.
23.40.53.0?

If I'm reading, like I was at the CNN site, it's just a minor hassle. But
if I'm playing a game or doing anything that involves a java applet, I'm
SOL. Sometimes, it causes the java app, and hence IE, to lock up, and then
I have to reboot.

Wonder if those "lawyer types" that prompted double-click to offer an
opt-out option have experienced this yet!

To phrase it as a tip:
<TIP>
If you've chosen to opt out of Double-Click, don't try to play games at
Uproar. Just as you're about to get BINGO and win that Palm V, double-click
will try to serve you an ad, and you'll get redirected to
http://ad.doubleclick.net/long_string_of_garbage (if you don't lock up), and
the ubiquitous "Page Cannot be Displayed" message. When you hit your back
button, that primo bingo card is history!
