Hey that sounds like a fun site to work on

[Burns, Martin] You *will* need to either learn about databases (not the
sort of thing you want to be doing from scratch on a paying gig) or
pay someone to do fair chunks of it.

Actually, if you have the time then basic ColdFusion isn't hard, and if
the client can tolerate something simple to start with which you put
ongoing development into, it could be OK. The key will be someone to
help you with the database design I think.

Learning SQL & either CF or ASP will be a good investment in any case.
You'll really need SQL for any real database worth its salt. Believe me,
it's easier than any other way.

You'll need to ask about database hosting, and what they offer. Most NT
hosts will offer ASP for a price, and you can find hosting partners for
ColdFusion from http://www.allaire.com/

[Burns, Martin]
Depends on how much time he can wait. If he can wait a year or 2 and
you work like crazy on learning, then you could be a guru in that time.

[Burns, Martin]
Plenty! Some people on this list could do the work. I can do some
introductions
to people that could do the work.

Cheers
Martin
