never restrict your inspiration to just other web sites (most of them are crap
anyway :P). look around you. at buildings. at products. at nature. the colours
and the shapes, and the alignment.
buy lots of design books for inspiration. the good ones are usually very
expensive, but they're generally worth it. flip through magazines and
bookmark/photocopy the ads and articles that are effectively laid out.
if you don't "have" it, then maybe focus on your talents. many people end up
frustrated doing half-code, half-design. concentrate on the things you're good
at, and outsource the rest to a friend. you'll end up feeling better, and
producing better work.
