Speaking personally, I don't know how my daughter (now 4) could ever
NOT be interested in computers or the 'net. She already enjoys
writing long emails full of gibberish, using a two-handed typing
method. She knows how to click & drag & so with my help can make
gifs in Fireworks.

As a teacher, I think hands-on is the way to go.

Find a Mac (okay, a computer) with Fireworks or Photoshop, show them
the basics, and let them build images for the web or print. That's
my suggestion. They may already know more about the web than you
might expect.

And I wouldn't stereotype girls of that age & relate everything to
shopping, boys... our girl-killer culture (buy buy buy sex sex sex)
may or may not have them fully in grip. I think the web & net come
naturally to girls. We love to communicate. Erika@seastorm.com
