OK....I'm bald from tearing my hair out and I'm not going to take it anymore!!
Here's what I want to do:
Data is in MS SQL Database
I want to schedule a job/service that:
- queries the target tables
- massages the data retrieved
- emails the massaged data to some people
I would prefer to leverage my ASP knowledge. But its looking like I'll have to learn
more VB (versus VB Scripting) to do this via the MS SQL Server Agent. The problem is
that we are using a Non-MS SMTP Server for mail, so I only have an ASPMail component
to talk to the SMTP Server - which appears to rule out using VB since I can't seem to
get access to the IIS Server Objects.
One hack would be to use AT to run IE and have IE hit an Admin page that causes IIS
to do the work for me. But that is so unclean I feel I should take a shower for just
suggesting it. ;-)
How has anyone else solved this problem?
