For the 3D effect you described for a product or object...
I'm a PC user myself, and don't have Apples QT Studio software, but I have
played with it at another shop before. If I'm not mistaken, that particular
product has a feature that allows one to photograph an object from various
angles, and then assemble those photos in such a way that when the user
scrolls through the .MOV QT file (in the plug in), it looks like the object
is spinning around! It's pretty cool and sounds exactly like what you're
looking for. check out:

If you are assembling panoramas like the one described above, make sure you
have the right equipment. A wide angle lens is essential! After researching
this whole capability for awhile, I think I've come to believe that Ipix is
a better solution for this type of media. http://www.ipix.com
