Hello.
As everyone has said, Dell is a great choice. And a great system right now,
for $1849 gets you a 733PIII, 128MB RDRAM, 19" Sony FD Trinitron (their
newest type of triniton monitor) and a bunch of other good stuff. I found
when I configured this systme online, it was cheaper than what was posted in
the mag (I think it was $100 cheaper :)
Just go here:
http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/default.htm
And where it says enter Evalue on the upper left, enter:
63328-590518
Or you may want to try a system without the RDRAM and get a 800PIII for
$1599 (I'm assuming this will be cheaper too like above).
Evalue: 63328-590515a
What I tend to do is instead of buying the best out there, go midrange to
lowerupper range if you can. That way you generally get a system a whole lot
better than you probably need and you don't waste your money on parts that
will be half that price in a few months. And make sure you can upgrade your
system. It makes buying midrange-lowerupper PCs so much better, since you
can make them blazing fast for just a few hundred dollars. And get a good
monitor. Those last a long time.
And the systems above fill just about all of that: excellent monitor, big
and will last, easy to upgrade, decent price, great support.
