Thing with #333333 is that you can't debate it. If it looks coloured there's
something wrong. Looking at #303430, it does look vaguely greenish, but that
might just be because I know it should. I wonder if your friend doesn't have
a decent colour depth set (Control Panel > Display > Settings > Color
Palette) (if it is Windows) -- just because it's a decent video card doesn't
mean the colour depth is set correctly.
