<tip type="accessibility" author="Erika">

Super Quick n' Dirty Summary
of Priority 1 (most important)
Checkpoints

1. text equivalent for every non-text element (images, music, animation, etc.)
2. don't rely only on color to convey information
3. clearly identify changes in natural language in text and text equivalents
4. data tables: identify row & column headers. use markup to
associate data cells & header cells.
5. make sure your site works without style sheets
6. make sure your page works when scripts, java, etc is turned off
7. don't cause the screen to flicker or flash
8. if you can't make your site accessible, build a second site that
IS accessible & provide a clear link to it.

Remember to:

- separate presentation from content
- keep content clear & simple
- transform gracefully (up & down & sideways)
