Hi
   I apologise for this being off-topic but I've come across a couple of
things in the last week that may be of use to anyone using W98 or NT.
   Firstly, you know how you can find a beautiful photo that you want to use
on your desktop as wallpaper, only to have it spoilt by those awful blocks
of colour under the icons.Well...

<tip subject="W98 Desktop">
 To make the coloured boxes underneath your desktop icons transparent try
the program at
http://members.xoom.com/TLGriffith/DeskColor/index.htm
</tip>

   Secondly, I volunteered to take Win NT off of my Dads computer and
replace it with Win 98 thinking, rather naively, that it would be a piece of
cake. Not so! Even after formatting the hard drive, NT had left a partition
on the machine so after installing Win 98 I couldn't access 2/3 of the hard
drive due to the partition. After a quick search on Google I found this
little gem...

<tip subject="NT partitions">
If you are stripping Win NT off of a machine & it has left a partition that
you can't remove download this program
http://hercules.ksu.ksu.edu/download/MSSTUFF/delpart.exe
Don't know if it works for other types of partition, but it saved me a lot
of trouble.
