(3 tips coz they aren't that good:)

when a client keeps asking you to change/add functionality, politely tell them
it is not a good idea. Explain them you need to think through any new /
changes
to functionality before starting the coding, if not, it'll cause problems
afterwards. I wish my predesecors had done that...

When a strange bug appears that doesn't appear often in, say, a search result,
take your time. Write little programs to find the problems, and then compare
the problems to find out how they were caused.

<tip>
Don't give the clients the possibility to change something they shouldn't
change in the admin area. Coz they will and corrupt all the data in the
database and you will have to fix it.
