It is IE 5.01, provided by an "Internet Content Provider" (thus the
"IC" tag on the end). Microsoft uses a system of version-numbering that is
indecipherable without its key, which you can find at:

I recommend against it if you will be installing it on your primary
workstation. There are two public betas (sometimes called "platform
previews") of IE 5.5. The second one is, not surprisingly, more stable than
the first, but it is not without problems. You cannot run IE 5.01 alongside
5.5; you *can* run IE4 in what's called "compatibility mode", but there are
some limitations with this. Some people have reported uninstall problems
with the beta. Bottom line, if you don't want to risk instabilities on your
workstation, don't install the beta; if it's a test machine that you can
thrash and reimage, then give it a try.
