Hi Erin,

I got the same deal at my new job. Make sure you have MMC installed and make
sure you have local machine administration privileges.

Subject: [thelist] intro/NT workstation PWS question/color tips

Hi-

Three things:

1. Hi. I'm new. I've been reading evolt for awhile and only just got
around to subscribing -- just in time for the tolkien debacle. (Woohoo.)
I'm...well, right now I'm learning to be a webmaster, but my previous web
experience has been with HTML/JavaScript and project management -- a hobby
that turned into my day job.

2. I've just started trying to make asp go on MS Personal Web Server on an
NT workstation (not my choice of platform, don't blame me)and I'm having a
rough time with PSW. I've got it up and working, but now I can't get it to
recognize changes I've made to files in the root directory. I really
*really* don't want to get stuck using the ridiculous Web Publishing Wizard
-- how can I make it recognize changes without renaming the directory in
which the changed files resides (which is the only thing that's worked)?

3. For those who didn't spend too much time on the 5k contest site (and in
light of recent discussions of color):

<tip type="color" author="Erin Kissane">
The Ideo Color Visualizer:
http://www.sylloge.com:8080/5k/entries/171/visualizer.html
<http://www.sylloge.com:8080/5k/entries/171/visualizer.html>

allows you to quickly try color combinations without writing a single line
of code -- very slick.

</tip>

Cheers-
Erin
