[thelist] migrating to php4

I'm trying to talk my host into upgrading to the new release version of php4
(4.0.0), and was told that it has "stability issues" and that they will be
waiting for those to be resolved before they make a decision. Now, I've been
running the beta version on my development machine, and one other webserver
for months without any trouble whatsoever. Has anyone out there experienced
or heard about these so called stability issues?

I'll need to put up a convincing argument if I'm to wade past what I
considered to be a smokescreen from these guys, so if anyone has been
running a site on version 4, I'd love to hear about that, too.

p.s. - Assuming I'll need to work with php3, does anyone having anything
good or bad to say about phplib and their implementation of sessions?
