We've used the "stability issues" argument as a way of saying, "we just want
to wait it out and see if any problems come up with other installs first."
--In other words, the ol' Don't-upgrade-until-the-first-service-pack policy.

I'd bet confidently that your beta installs are not identical to theirs, and
they're playing it safe. Hell, you'd be just one of who knows how many
customers that would be screwed if there was something lurking inside php4
.... I'd ask if they have any beta installs and if possibly you could help
them flesh it out, at the very least ask them if they even have an
implementation plan drawn up with timelines to get it in there.

All that being said, is php4 officially released?
