Assume that nobody has anything better than 640 x 480. The chances that
you'll alienate someone drops dramatically. Having worked an ISP doing
support, you'd be surprised how many surfers are still using older systems
with crappy resolutions and obsolete operating systems.

Think "Lowest common denominator."
