[thelist] evil buzzword alert

chew on this:

we live in this medium every day. none of this is new to us. as I was
reminded over the weekend, this intimacy can foster somewhat an elitist view
on it. It hit me when I tried to relate a (what we'd think) funny episode to
some friends, and they pointed out that because I see it everyday, I forget
that there are tons of people who don't.

So yeah, "e-volution" is corny. its not new. we're sick of it.

but its also recognizable to the marketplace; i.e. the millions of people
who have been online for less than 6 months. its also one of those things
that despite how much we hate looking at, gets the ceo's of your potential
clients' attention. Unless your client is razorfish or the like, the ceo
knows buzzwords, and money changes hands over buzzwords.

big, chalky, nasty pill to swallow, but you pick and choose your battles,
yaknow?

(suggest "e.volution" --at least that's a little more suave)

have I turned completely gray? (to tie in an Uncle Bill thread elsewhere ;)
