[thelist] [OT kinda] SAMBA and Win2k

I'm trying to get a Windows 2000 machine to connect to a SAMBA server and it
won't play.

I read something about SAMBA needing plain-text passwords and how to enable
this in NT4 (add to the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Rdr\Parameters the
value EnablePlainTextPassword - this key did not exist so I created it and
still no joy). I may well be barking up completely the wrong tree.

Anyone done this/seen a useful URL on how to do it?
