[thelist] email security issue?

I requested two email boxes be added to an account ... they have two 
characters in them; I am told that "for security purposes" they must have 
at least three because they are too easy to guess with only two.

I mean, like, I fully intend to make it EXPLICITLY clear EXACTLY what the 
email addresses are on the "contact" page anyway ...

Is the security issue explainable or do I need to make a disgruntled phone call?
