even with the early iMacs, if you REALLY wanted to, you could crack the case
(open it, not actually break it) and unplug the built-in monitor and attach
your own. i suppose if you used a studio display, you could place it right
in front and no one would know the difference.... :)
also, keep in mind that the iMac is intended for home users: getting online
in a few seconds & editing home videos - most of which, for your basic home
mac user, doesn't require multiple displays. if you want to bring out the
big guns - gotta get a G4; built for what you're talking about doing.
