There's a very handy little shareware tool I've been using for years that
lets you toggle (using shift-apple-9) between Mac, PC, and any saved gamma
settings you may have. It's tiny, and you put it in your fonts folder. While
it's not 100% accurate for every gamma possibility, it does a really good
job of approximating Windows gamma on a Mac (I have a Mac and Windows
machine side-by-side).
