I've been designing with an iMac since they came out in Aug. 98 and
I've loved it since I got it. I added some more RAM and some
peripherals, such as a Zip drive. It's funny how little you need the
floppy once you have an iMac. I can't think of needing one yet,
except when I thought that Kinko's wouldn't have Zip drives, but I
was wrong about that.

It's a great machine and the only reason I'm thinking of upgrading
now is because my boss is offering to sell me a 21" monitor for $500
and because I work on a much bigger monitor at work. I've gotten
spoiled :) However, the iMacs are workhorse computers and now that
they offer firewire and usb and some video out, they offer an even
better value.

A Mac and OS X are all I'll need. Soon I'll be able to write, run and
use PHP right on my Mac with MySQL and everything. Now THAT will be
nice.

Going to pick up a Mac OS X beta at Macworld.. anyone want some? (if
it comes out then, that is)

Jake
